With a combined experience of over 40 years, Everett Meisser and Paul Riccabona have been providing quality, personalized financial guidance to individuals and businesses. Our expertise ranges from basic tax management and accounting services to more in-depth services such as consulting and financial planning.

Professional Focus

Everett has a Bachelor of Science and Masters in Business Administration from San Jose State University. Is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in California. After college he acquired a job as Senior Accountant at Price Waterhouse 1970-1973. He moved on in 1974 to VP of Finance Royal American Foods then on to VP of Finance of at Gavilan Packaging. Everett worked hard and started his own firm in January 1976 and has been successful ever since. In 2006 opened up his practice to a Partnership with Meisser Seales Riccabona, LLP. Now has settled into Meisser & Riccabona LLP.

Everett has extended experience in individual, partnership, corporation, estate and trust accounting. He enjoys bringing his experience of the law and real estate into his accounting practice. Everett has clients going back 40+ years! Everett's passion is still strong for his work. He always enjoys supporting clients with good, analytical decision making.

Volunteer Commitments

Everett currently serves as treasurer on the board of Happy Valley Elementary School since 2012. He helps raise money for Siena House and Saint Francis Soup Kitchen. Everett served many years at the Holiday Fest for Grey Bears. He continues to help assist Santa Cruz Little League for his boys. He is always cooking food for any special event and helping his daughter with gymnastics or just painting her nails!

Other Interests

When not working you can find Everett spending time with his family. He has 4 boys and 1 girl. He is an avid SF Giant Fan. He enjoys reading, racecars, Porsche’s, art, traveling, collecting Fountain pens, and has become a master at making desserts, breads and pizza! He enjoys challenging himself with new recipes and sharing all he has made. He continues to study and stay true to his Sicilian heritage!

Paul Riccabona, CPA

Professional History and Focus

Paul Riccabona graduated from San Jose State University in 2003 with a B.S. in Business with emphasis in Accounting. He immediately landed a job at Stamper Capital and Investments as a financial analyst. Paul moved into the accounting world in 2005 with a job as a staff accountant for Hutchinson and Bloodgood LLP. Paul excelled at bookkeeping and managing small business clients along with individual and business tax preparation. Paul merged with Codiga and Associates, Inc. in 2008 and received his CPA license in 2009. Paul joined Meisser and Seales LLP in 2011 and started on the path to becoming partner. He achieved his goal in 2016 becoming partner at Meisser Seales Riccabona LLP. Paul has continued to strengthen his tax and accounting skills offering in depth tax planning and analysis for his clients. Paul has developed an expertise in the cannabis industry and provides tax and consulting services for cannabis clients throughout central and Northern California. He especially enjoys S-Corporations and Partnership accounting and tax support.

Volunteer Work

Paul is a former Treasurer of Central Coast Flag Football and was one of the founding members which started in 2009. CCFF is a youth flag football league serving youths in the Aptos and Capitola-Soquel. Currently there are over 300 kids that play each year. In addition, Paul has been a football coach at Aptos High School for the past 9 years enjoying coaching his sons and kids that came through and played in Central Coast Flag Football League.

Other Interests

Paul loves the outdoors in any format. Surfing year round with summer time camping and fishing to wintertime snowboarding. He currently lives in Aptos with his wife Christine raising 3 children, a son Joey and twins Ava and Nicco. He is an avid SF Giants, Warriors and 49ers fan.

Barbara Herrlich-Keeley, CPA (831) 465-1600

Professional Focus

Barbara Herrlich-Keeley has been licensed and practicing accountancy for nearly four decades in California. A 1978 graduate of San Jose State University’s school of business, Barbara is a senior member at Meisser and Riccabona, LLP. Barbara has been with the firm since 1993 and has extended experience in the area of individual, partnership, corporation, and estate and trust taxation. She focuses much of her practice in the fields of estates and trusts. Barbara especially enjoys working with clients who may not have had significant experience with trusts and other elements of estate work, many of whom are women.

Other Interests

While raising her daughter, Barbara was an officer at Georgiana Bruce Kirby School parent association. Using her skills to work with other parents to enrich the school’s well-regarded academic and related offerings. An active member of the Santa Cruz community, Barbara regularly attends events of various kinds in support of the many, many good works being undertaken by the extensive non-profit community. Barbara is an avid reader, quilter, and gardener. Barbara is married to former Assembly member Fred Keeley, and they enjoy bicycling, hiking, and the Santa Cruz Warriors.

Christina (Tina) Hancock, CPA (831) 465-1600

Professional Focus

Tina joined Meisser and Riccabona LLP in 2014. Tina has experience in tax compliance and accounting and works with individuals, businesses, trusts and exempt organizations. She provides services to clients across a wide range of industries and also assists our fiduciary clients with trust accounting preparation.

Prior to joining Meisser and Riccabona LLP, Tina graduated from California State University, Chico, in 1999 with a B.S. Microbiology. After seven years in the biotech and life science industries, she began to study at the Lucas Graduate School of Business at San Jose State University. Tina graduated in 2007 with an M.S. in Accountancy. Tina is a CPA and a member of The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is a prior volunteer with Tax-Aid.

Other Interests

When she is not in the office, Tina enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two children. Her newest endeavor is to finally learn to speak Spanish!

Lisa Hogan, CPA 831-465-1600

Professional Focus

Lisa has deep roots in Santa Clara County, having grown up in Campbell, and attended school from Kindergarten through college, whereby experiencing the birth of what is today the Silicon Valley.
Lisa Hogan joined Meisser and Riccabona LLP in 2018. Lisa has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Accounting from San Jose State University. Lisa started her career in the late 90’s in the Bay Area, working for Deloitte & Touche and other local accounting firms. Her experience also includes CFO at a large Sheetmetal Manufacturing Company. She has had her CPA license for over two decades, staying home for one decade to raise her family. Lisa has extensive experience in working with high-net-worth individuals on their individual tax preparation and in audits and reviews of closely-held businesses in a variety of industries.

Volunteer Commitments

Lisa is currently serving a two-year term as Treasurer of the Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance (AFWA), Silicon Valley Chapter, Empowering women in the accounting and financial professions since 1938.

Other Interest

When Lisa is not preparing taxes, Lisa enjoys spending time with her newly-wed husband, Jim and her two grown daughters, Kelly & Katie, when they visit from San Diego State University, where they are both studying biology. She also enjoys the company of their two dogs and a kitty!
